How to Connect an HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)?

You can easily connect your HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). You don’t need a password or a network name when you connect your printer to the network through Wi-Fi protected setup.

To start with the process, you need to put your router as well as a printer on the WPS setup mode. When the connection is established, then install the HP software to wirelessly connect your printer to the computer system.

Step by Step Process to Connect an HP Printer Using WPS Pin:

Step 1 : Please ensure that your router has a WPS button or a button with WPS icon. If your router has a button, then don’t press the button and move forward with the next step.

Step 2 : In case it does not have a WPS button, then move to FAQs for other options.

Step 3 : Keep the printer in a place where there is good signal reception.

Step 4 : Keep your printer in the WPS connection mode.

Step 5 : Printers that have touchscreen control panel: First of all, open the setup, then Network and then go to Wireless settings menu. After that, select Wi-Fi protected setup. After that, select Push Button and then click on Start.

Step 6 : In case your printer machine does not have a touchscreen display, then hold the button of Wireless for at least 5 seconds and then wait for the wireless light to start flashing. In case you have a Tango printer, then press the wireless button and then press on/off button for 5 seconds. The button is placed at the side of your printer. Wait till the blue light flashes.

Step 7 : In the next two minutes, press the WPS button and hold it for at least 5 seconds or till the connection process starts.

Step 8 : Return to the printer and then see the status of wireless light or bar. In case the blue bar stops blinking, then that means your printer device is connected to the wireless network. Move forward with the next step.

Step 9 : In case the light keeps on blinking and then turns off, then that means no connection has been established. If that happens, move your printer device a little near the router and then perform the same steps again. In case the connection does not work, then move to the FAQ section in the document.

Step 10 : Please ensure that your mobile device and computer system is on the same wireless network as your printer machine.

Step 11 : After that, you need to execute the directions for installing drivers and set up Wi-Fi connection.

So, these are all the steps that you need to carry out for HP Printer Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).
