How to Fix Laptop Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi?

Often there is an issue with the Laptop where it keeps disconnecting from the wifi. It is frustrating and irritating as it becomes a roadblock for you which keeps recurring. And this isn’t an issue exclusive to you but is being reported frequently by many users.

A few of the reasons could be problematic power settings related to your network, incorrect network configuration and another major problem of outdated routers could be a source of this continuous disconnectivity. 

There are a few methods to try when your Laptop Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi. 

1. Try Running Network Troubleshooter:

The Windows troubleshooters are designed to fix certain issues independently. Although, every problem might not get solved through a troubleshooter but you can surely try if your Laptop Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi. 

  • Go to the Troubleshoot tab available in the Update and Security section
  • Navigate to Network Connections and hit the ‘Run the Troubleshooter’ button. 

  • Next, let the process get completed and follow any prompts visible on the screen. 

Work on your laptop for some time and see if the problem recurs. 

2. Restart Laptop:

Yes, restarting actually fixes a lot of technological problems. Be it a computer, laptop, or even mobile phone. If your Laptop Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi restart it as well as the router to fix these network issues. 

  • Switch off both your laptop and router. Take out the plug of the router and shut it down completely.

4. Power Management Configuration:

Configuring Power Management is another option to fix the disconnectivity issue you are facing with your laptop. 

  • Press the combination key Win + R to run command, input ncpa.cpl and press OK. 
  • Click on Configure and head to Power Management. Untick the box ‘Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in case it is selected. 
  • To save changes, click OK. 

5. Reset IP Configuration:

Setting the default settings for the IP settings can be done if your Laptop Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi. 

  • Press the combination key Win + R to run the command promptor. 
  • Input both netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and then hit enter. 

You could try any of these methods to fix the issue of your laptop getting disconnected from the wifi.
